Thanksgiving Day Parade, An Extraordinary Day To Remember

The history of Thanksgiving Day dates back to 1863 when it was instituted by President Abraham Lincoln. This event was in celebration of the harvest and survival of the pilgrims in the New World. This is an American tradition that is annually celebrated every fourth Thursday in November.

This is the day when families gather around the television to tune in to a major television network to watch the best Thanksgiving Day parade. The colorful parade includes the parade floats with specific themes, large balloons of cartoon characters and TV personalities and high school marching bands.

There are different kinds of parade held on a happy Thanksgiving Day in different states. The Belk Carolinas' Carrousel Parade in uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. The McDonald’s Thanksgiving Parade in Downtown Chicago, Illinois. The America's Thanksgiving Parade in downtown Detroit, Michigan.

Make sure to dress warmly when watching the Thanksgiving Day parade wearing layers, warm footwear, gloves and a hat are all wonderful ideas making it more pleasant standing outside for several hours.
