A wonderful wintry real wedding in the heart of London

 The proposal

“Well it all started with a wink! Paul and I met through an online dating site, so our first date was essentially a blind date after only a few emails,” remembers Jennifer.

“Paul and I clicked straight away, as soon as we met. We spent the whole night chatting and laughing and before we knew it, we were the last people in the pub. Paul popped the question while we were on holiday in Ibiza. He’d planned to ask me at one of the island’s top restaurants, but when we got there he realised pretty quickly it wasn’t quite the right place, as there was a massive party going on with drunk people dancing on the tables! I was none the wiser so we had a great night but Paul had to hold on to the ring for another day,” laughs Jennifer

The bride’s outfit

“I found it on the very first day of looking with my mum and sister, it was a Manuel Mota for Pronovias gown,” she explains.

“However, I carried on trying loads more dresses for a few weeks afterwards, plus I went back to the original another four times before I finally agreed it was ‘the one’ after all. I just couldn’t believe I had found my dress on the very first day! I really enjoyed trying on all the different styles, colours and shapes – although I felt sorry for my poor mum and sister being dragged around the whole of London. They had the patience of angels!”

 The groom’s outfit

“Paul is really into style and clothes, and it was important to him that he wore the perfect suit,” explains Jennifer. He wore a bespoke creation from Gresham Blake.

The bridesmaids

“We looked everywhere for the perfect dresses and eventually found them in John Lewis . They were stunning! Full-length, bias cut, graphite grey satin, with vintage-style crystal straps. They created a more grown-up look, rather than a cute look, which I loved,” says Jennifer

 The ceremony

“We had two readings one by my brother Cameron, followed by Nicola a friend of ours who read the lyrics to Pulp’s song Something Changed – it’s a really beautiful song about two people meeting and how their lives changed in an instant. We thought it reminded us of how we met,” smiles Jennifer

The reception

“Our reception had two locations – a drinks reception on the Golden Salamander boat, which picked us up at Putney Pier and took us down the Thames. We then had our evening party in the Great Halls at London’s top venue, Vinopolis, in the heart of Borough Market,” recalls Jennifer

The honeymoon

The day after the wedding, the couple had lunch with friends and family and then jumped on a flight to Rio for a month!
